Our vintage style wedding on a budget - The beginning (part 1)
My name is Nuria and I'm the owner of Corbico Jewellery together with my husband Darren. I thought I share the details of the day that the 'Corbico team' got married as it was so much fun to organise and also features some of our lovely jewellery!
Darren proposed to me in Brighton, so when we thought about where we would like to get married, it was a choice between our two favourite places: Brighton or London. We wanted something simple, yet elegant. An intimate wedding with only our children present, but fun and stylish, not expensive but still special. We had our work cut out!
My engagement ring by the way, was bought in an antique auction. It is an 18k gold Art Deco antique ring with platinum plating and small diamonds. I like that it has a history and I really like the 1920/1930s Art Deco style, so it was a great find. New diamond rings are very expensive to buy in a retail shop, but you can find really nice affordable second hand rings in jewellers or if you want something that's antique, there are many auctions where you can find stunning jewellery at great prices. Just don't get carried away when bidding!
So this is how it all started! Hopefully you find our blog interesting and can pick up some tips for your own wedding, if like me, you want to avoid stress and love picking up bargains. I will let you know how we found the perfect registry office for us and why the date of our wedding would be easy to remember, even if it could be slightly frightening!
